The Inaugural Global Women’s Voice Philanthropic Tour 2019 (Part 2)

“There’s something so special about a woman who dominates in a man’s world. It takes a certain grace, strength, intelligence, fearlessness, and the nerve to never take no for an answer.” —Rihanna in the March 2017 issue of Harper’s BAZAAR.

“In the future, there will be no female leaders. There will just be leaders.”—Sheryl Sandberg

“Women are leaders everywhere you look—from the CEO who runs a Fortune 500 company to the housewife who raises her children and heads her household. Our country was built by strong women, and we will continue to break down walls and defy stereotypes.” —Nancy Pelosi

“Words have power. TV has power. My pen has power.” —Shonda Rhimes

The third leg of the Global Women’s Voice Philanthropic Tour led me into the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Bahraini archipelago is a gracious host nation and an oasis for social liberalism.

It was amazing to be able to visit for the fourth time and experience global outlook in Bahrain. A certain clarity takes hold of you as you travel across nations that builds from inside out.

Global Womens Voice Philanthropic Tour Bahrain 2019

One of my highlights was at the Bahrain Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) which is doing stellar work in achieving advanced government performance that supports economic and social development plans. It seeks to achieve its objectives through the provision of learning and training to develop skills, knowledge and behaviour; offering consultancy services to contribute to the decision-making process, development of scientific research to solve problems and execute coaching and assessment to build and develop capacity.

It is in BIPA that Hamsa Saeed spreads her coaching wealth. Hamsa is most amiable and passionate Bahraini woman I have met, I was blessed to have her with me on this inaugural philanthropic tour. Many like her in Bahrain find themselves agreeable with the power of social media as an assistant to Women Empowerment. You can read more about her here:

We celebrate the women who have seized the opportunity to use social media to challenge the status quo, and how social media continues to provide women with a chance to mould society, a society that has a global perspective to be sustainable and harmonious.

An interactive hands-on workshop was designed & conducted to showcase these ideas in collaboration with Showcase101 titled “Five Steps to Taking Your Business Global to be Sustainable”. We encouraged small women entrepreneurs to come and join us as we imparted tips, tricks and strategies that we use that make our businesses long term global successes. My sojourn in Bahrain had three stops, my last one was a coffee talk afternoon at Zain Bahrain, a telecommunications company where I had the pleasure of being heard by an enthusiastic audience. The Bahraini Leg of The Philanthropic Tour was a definite change of gears after the African leg where I toured orphanages, was part of the all-day conference for The Global Women’s Tour, The Women’s University of Africa and met lovely and dedicated  people. You can read more about my experience in Africa here.

If you are burning to do MORE and make a big difference in lives, you can apply for my mentoring program here: https://www.didownie.com/mentoringnow/

Not only did we inspire women we also inspired men and changed lives. If you met us in Bahrain please make your comment and tell us your takeaway.

Tell us what we missed for you and you want more of.  We love to hear from you!

  1. That event looked like it was jam packed with value. I love seeing other women come together to empower each other. I do, however, love Sheryl Sandberg’s quote: “In the future, there will be no female leaders. There will just be leaders.” I come from several male dominated industries and I never really felt left out by any means. In fact, I always wondered why there weren’t more women in the spaces that I was in. By being you I can see that you’re giving other women and people permission to be more. What a cool trip. Can’t wait to join you.

    1. Yes it was a cool trip Regina and one that will continue, I trust!

To have you come and spread your message, and more importantly your energy, would be of great value to everyone you touch.

      Always appreciate your comments Regina
