To eat is a necessity, but to eat for our best, is a plan for clarity – Di Downie

I’m always banging on about how important our routines are and how, when we have designed them, they positively underpin us emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually.

Here is an older blog if you are looking for direction on your dreams and passions  and how your dreams and passions are related to your routines.

Basing our routines on our values and what we need personally is key to developing good eating habits, daily exercise, specific meditations, skills for conflict resolution and easy meaningful conversations.

Here is a blog post with a video that I posted 1 year ago explaining further, regarding routines.

One of my values is to be connected.  With myself, with other people, to be connected and present with who I am with , what I’m doing .

From working with thousands of women, globally, they tell me that clarity of thought is one of their key objectives to having well designed routines. Many have suffered from foggy brain, lapse of memory more than they would like to admit and many have suffered in silence with no direction. Worse still, some have not been aware that their lack of clarity has designed their life.

I have experimented enough with my foods, the routines around how I move my body daily, the types of meditations I do for specific situations.  I have spent years creating routines, systems, policies and agreeements in our, businesses, to know that ROUTINES RULE our life!

Certainly the foods we eat, and spend time planning to eat, are all built from our routines.

It is always surprising to me that people ask me what is alkaline food when we are talking about good eating habits.

Many people are still living in the 1950’s eating their meat and 3 veg.  We have evolved as humans, the planet has evolved.  We are in an era where more and more people have educated themselves to eat for above average blood results and to help our planets sustainability.

To experiment with our foods for our individuality is key now more than ever before.   Plant based eating not only improves our blood results within a short few days, it also increases our ability to have clear thinking, self connection and a way of life that flows due to what we attract from our thinking.  I’m sure you have heard all this before!

Many people have asked me about the foods we eat. Here is the beginning of this process in this blog post:

Here is a short list for you if you need a direction as to what to include every day for good eating habits:

Green leafy Vegetables ( you could grow your own lettuce, kale and                                      or sprout the seeds for further nutrients)

–              Broccoli especially is good for high density bones (especially good if you are over 50)

–               Root Vegetables, especially ginger ( not classified as a root vegetable technically, for this purpose of this email eat/drink it every day)

–                Citrus Fruits

  •                    Nuts ( especially Almonds)

–                 Whole grains – Avoid wheat

–                 Lentils

–                 Spices

When planning your food for the week think:

Avocados, not one but 5!

Broccoli, not one but 5, great in smoothies!

Cabbage – I love it very very thinly sliced – Vietnamese style

Lentils

Brightly coloured vegetables for tasty salads and hot dishes

Citrus fruit, especially lemons.

Ginger at  night and in morning.

I do include soy in the form of Tofu and I do include chick peas, well soaked, for hommus.

I grow enough Basil to make plenty of Pesto, here is the blog I wrote with the recipe

If you are looking for specific immune boosting read this blog about how to make Liposomal Vit C

This drink is worth the time and effort

My Immune Building G & T – Ginger and Tumeric

For 2people

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 20 grams grated or chopped fresh ginger ( if you dont love Ginger cut down to 15grams)
  • 1 ¼ easpoons turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 of cardamom
  • generous pinch of black pepper
  • 4 tablespoon almond butter
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (or to taste)
  • pinch of sea salt, I only do this in the summer when I need salt on our hot days

.2 cups of just boiled water, If  you want this drink to be cold, add cold water 1 ½ cups and ½ cup of ice, by the way I like more almond butter and more honey or maple syrup in the summer.

What to do:

  • Heat coconut oil in a small sauce pan over medium low heat.
  • Add ginger, ground turmeric, cinnamon, cardamom, and black pepper and stir, cooking spices until very fragrant, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Scrape coconut oil and cooked spices into a high speed blender and add 1 tablespoon almond butter, vanilla extract, a pinch of sea salt and just boiled water.
  • Blend on high until bright yellow, emulsified, and creamy!  Cover lid with towel so none squirts out.  Also wipe immediately off bench so as to not stain.

NOTE:  In the summer time before I put the ice and cold water into the blender I add with the spices, almond butter and vanilla essence 2 tablespoons of boiling water and blend for 3 seconds.  Then I add the ice and cold water to emulsifier and froth for a delicious summer immune builder.

In the summer I take this drink in the summer at around 4p.m. before dinner, which I make a light salad dinner.

Where as in the winter I take at bedtime or make it my dinner.

I always love to hear your results and comments.

With love and support
