How Women Thrive

“Woman are allowing themselves to be gentle, elegant, feminine whilst facilitating logistics, plans and purpose.  It will be those woman with their presense, integrity and warm heart that can make the moves for the betterment of the planet”. – My thought for this post – Di Downie

It is almost five years to the day when I drove into my driveway with tears burning their way out of my eyes.

I’m not sure how I got home that cold night from another furiously busy, frustrating and frantic day with our team, our customers, with logistics, solving many problems at the same time.  If you operate a business or if you are the woman you will understand.

I knew that I hadn’t been loving my role in our business for some time, those past four or five months the negative thoughts were increasing, my toleration level to mistakes, noise, people being late, excuses was on an extremely short fuse.  I knew in my heart I wanted to change lives in a profound way and I wanted to do it on a global level and I wanted to share business ideas for women.

That night as I pulled into our driveway I knew I was at my tipping point of never to be the same again. The day had ripped my happy bubbling self out of my body and left this shriveled, sad, even angry child like being inside of me. I was familiar with being alone, angry, often sad and shriveled I had spent many teenage years feeling less than my friends.  I had spent many days in my twenties and thirties and even forties comparing myself and judging myself and others.  Proving to my parents that I was doing a good enough job, proving to my kids that I was s good mother, proving to the neighbours cat that I had handled this or that situation well or not well. I Ideas Diva turning business ideas for women into reality.

International Womans Day #IWD2018

That night as I drove into our driveway with those tears burning their way out of my eyes I was clueless that  I was about to step into a new reality.

I have no choice as to what I do now.

I was scared.

I was questioning myself……

Was I going to lose my marriage?

Was I going to lose the love of our girls?

Would I have friends that would not talk to me again?

Do I know what I want to do next?

I have everything, why am I not happy?

Transforming my life has not been easy.

I’m a simple thinking hard working country-bred woman.

I don’t have a degree in anything except living life.

I have put food on the table for our family for many years.. 40 years.

I have studied human nature, metaphysics, natural medicine and created businesses …    8 of them.

Often I wonder what I have learned

Often I wonder if I have done enough with my life.

What is enough?

That night when I drove into our driveway with those tears burning my eyes I knew I was about to become a different person………………………… again!

Over the next few days while I was feeling sad, confused full of self-pity there was a fear of the unknown and inability to explain what was happening to me. Now looking back I can see that many layers of self-judgment, proving myself, comparing myself to others was healing from the inside out.  You see I have spent many years looking into my own beliefs, taking courses from so-called gurus, reading books, listening to tapes, CD’s, You Tubes, Ted talks.  I have spent thousands of dollars on having people help me heal my past pains with weird and wonderful processes. I have had and still have global mentors to support me and my dreams.

We live in a new global village

We are not in the industrial age anymore where we produce with our hands and a 4 or 5-year degree that we paid thousands of dollars for.

We live in the network age, an era where we can not only transform our own lives but every person who we touch on the planet. AND now we can touch many lives on the planet at any one time with our tweets, our Facebook posts, our blogs our online events.

A side note here from my experience:  WE can only transform lives deeply and profoundly in our global village when we can get out of judging ourselves and others and tap into our own ideas and purpose.

We are in the era of co-operation we can now set up our networks globally for our teams to add to each other globally.

A side note from my experience: It is more fun, easy and doable when you have people around us who do not judge and who have a strong desire for their own personal freedom.

International Womans Day, week and month is one such way we can co-operate with woman global to not only transform our own lives we can transform others too.

5 Women Share Strategies “HOW THEY THRIVE”

Friday March 9, 2018  6pm Los Angeles TIME

Why did I go into my own personal story  I’m just an ordinary person struggling with my own doubts and fears. Every time I have started each business I have been through a similar process.

I encourage you when you know you are not fulfilled and have those negative thoughts rattling between your ears, to explore possibilities, explore business ideas for women and have the courage to develop those ideas and those possibilities.

Surround yourself with people who have been where you want to go.

  • Remember you cannot get everything from one person.
  • Remind yourself that we live in a global village now, the world is truly our oyster
  • Change your percep of about being in business.  It is simply money in and money out
  • Match your skills to trending business ideas to live in our global village
  • Remind yourself that we are all entrepreneurs because we all have ideas.  some of us take action.

Share with us how you THRIVE and share what you are STRIVING for.

Hugs and love

    1. Life is real and life can be tough.

It takes many of us to support each other to allow us to be who we truly are and be able to give others more than inspiration

      with love Di

  2. Amazing story, Di. Very relatable and raw. I feel very lucky to have you as a role model to watch and learn from. One of my dreams is to pass on your life’s work along with mine as I use some of the tools you teach. It’s the first time in my life I’ve really been given the tools to build a solid foundation that I can use and pass onto my daughter and those around me. Thank you.
