So lucky to catch these two chicks sitting by themselves one morning near my local park in Perth, near the coast. Both parents sitting in the branch above watching me adoring and silently clicking, hoping to not invade their privacy.

One of Australia’s largest birds. I love this bird for its sedately walk holding its head high. Unlike most, this one walked along side us rather than walking away slowly, watching us with those stunning eyes. Commonly called the Wild Turkey and commonly seen alone, this one was in a group of 5. Excited to have had this encounter taking place out of Dalwallinu.

Taken early in the season on a trip to Cue. To see these everlastings did not disappoint. I feel like these beautiful pinks are our real everlastings, I’m sure my perspective is shaped by my childhood memories.

Mulla Mulla, Foxtails, Pussy Tails, Lamb’s Tails are common names for the approx 120 varieties of the native Ptilotus. Most of these varieties grow in the Pilbara. This photo was taken south.

The only species of crane worldwide that is native to Australia. The Brolga is the only crane species to have a gland in the corner of their eyes, which helps to pass excess salt. Taken out of Wyndham.
