I’m a West Australian professional blogger, in the making, LOL!!! who loves to take photos for fun, At the same time I’m a mum, a wife, a business owner, an avid traveler and I’m told I’m a loyal friend.

Much of my childhood years I spent in the Western Australian wheat belt in a family of three younger brothers and hard working, honest and good farming parents.

My first experience of writing was a instruction book on The Art of Corn Dolly making.  On the weekends we would pack ourselves up, Rob, my husband and soul mate, and  daughter Kate would travel to fairs and country shows, I’d demonstrate Corn Dolly making and sell my books.

Rob and I have operated many different types of small businesses which have all needed creativity, innovation and the support from each other for their successes. Both of our gorgeous girls, Kate and Jay have had to take second place if there was big job to be done on time, a fair to get to, marketing material to be pulled together and needed extra creativity to give it the punch we wanted.  Writing has always been a skill that I wanted to get better at and never had the chance to do it.

This website:  www.didownie.com gives me the opportunity to learn new skills giving me further financial and location freedom. I meet many likeminded and fascinating people from around the globe.  I love that!

My interests are many including photography, fashion and beauty – inside and out, organic foods, Fermented Foods, Rituals. I love to  learn  -mainly in the areas of how we  perceive ourselves, also how to eat well and with ease. I love to spend time with our dogs and at the beach walking and swimming.  Gaining glimpses into how different cultures live as we travel together as a couple and a family is  such a great thing for me to do.

I see photography as an insight into how I see the world from the outside of myself. I love colours and depth and a story to interpret in each photo.

A sunday morning on the beach with friends.

I am at the stage in my life where I don’t need the school fees paid, I don’t need the newest car all the time, by the way I love nice cars and gorgeous clothes BUT I don’t need to be self driven every minute of my day.

I was when I was in my thirties and forties!

Here is  an old photo – 1999 – at our dam, on our farm in Toodyay.

We spend many a hot day in the dam with our kids and friends relaxing in-between often 7 day working weeks.

Elegance is lifestyle to me, everyday being comfortable in my skin having my day flow with good simple food and exercise routine a lifestyle that is enhanced with simple fashion and skin care routines.

Are you on Instagram  I am also….

Running my own business, thinking that I’m the “boss” of me and my businesses over the years. I came to realise, even though I ran my own show,  I was always stuck in one location.

All my previous businesses have been in a physical location.  Most of them holding stock as well as being responsible for staff whilst giving  top notch service.

Have loved them all, don’t get me wrong!

I want more freedom to take us forward.

Change doesn’t happen in one day.

I have had to take some time out of my every day business life to look, to experiment and  try different things.

Here I am!

Simply follow me.

See how I have re-shaped our lives

Talk to me on Facebook,  I will reply to you.
