Most people do not know what it is that they want to do when they grow up.

This exercise has 4 parts to it.

What you will GET from this one hour a week for 4 weeks is:
You will know where to POSITION YOURSELF AS THE EXPERT IN YOUR NICHE.
You will have a written system to tell people what you do.
You will gain confidence to tell people what you do.
You will be able to have conversations with people about what you do.
You will have a sound bite for radio, TV and magazines to tell people what you do.
You will have your foundation of all your marketing.

THE 4 CRITICAL STEPS TO ENABLE YOU to BE ABLE TO DO WHAT IT IS YOU LOVE TO DO

This PROCESS is one to practise WITH A BUDDY FOR ONE MONTH FROM THIS GROUP for clarity and stability against tall poppy, self doubts and self sabotage TO ENBLE YOU TO DO WHAT IT IS YOU LOVE TO DO.

STICK TO THE SYSTEM: Have your back covered by working with people who understand the depth and vital importance of being able to say what is that you do with clarity, confidence and conviction.

1. GET a BUDDY from this group.

2. MAKE TIMES FOR THE NEXT MONTH – 30 minutes only one meet per week, use a platform where you can record your meeting. ZOOM is what I use. It is free for a basic membership.
In the meeting: Be Precise, Be specific, Don’t judge , Don’t waste time

Structure of meeting:
3. Person number 1 tells person number 2 – why I have the right to do what I do. Person number 2 types or writes what person number 1 says.

4.SWAP OVER: Person number 2 tells person number 1 – why I have the right to do what I do. Person number 1 types or writes what person number 2 says..

After call:
5. Send each other your transcript and the person who recorded sends the recording to their buddy.

Between Meeting:

6. Between each meeting write from the notes received and the recording
why you have the right to do what you do. Save in Marketing Folder: name the file – Why I do what I do

7. Take a screen shot of you and your buddy from the recording. Copy from your notes why you have the right to do what you do. Create a post in The Downie Method facebook page, paste the notes and upload the photo.
The first line from the first week post will be:

MODULE 14 – Why I do what I do.

Each weekly post you  will add to your personal system of why you have the right to do what it is you love.

RULES:
The listener must not interrupt
The listener must only ask questions ONLY, AFTER the presentation. DO NOT GIVE FEEDBACK or SUGGESTIONS
Once the post has been made, in the group, anyone from the group can give suggestions on how the written words could be more precise, engaging and compelling.

Start the sentences with the words Im suggesting below :

I have the right to do what I do because I have
had / I have done / I have worked with….

Explain what you have done…. For example: Run 8 successful businesses, been in business for 40 years, been married for 40 years, been divorced three times, been in the TV production industry for 30 years producing adverts, been into personal development for 40 years, been bankrupt twice,

Im now going to tell you 5 things that other people have told me at Im good at (Im not sure that I believe them but Im going to tell you). ………

For example: I have a detailed sense to colours and textures for clothes for styling peoples personalities, I am able to pin point the main problem after I have had a conversation with someone, Im reliably creative when offering solutions, , I always seem to know what to do with a broken down car, Im always able to combine basic ingredients to make a delicious meal, Im told that people feel comfortable with me, when I see a room Im able to give ideas that are sassy and funky, Im realistic with dates, times and places, Im really good at remembering what I read.

Here are two examples of two courageous people putting the work into being present, precise and on purpose:
